This article is a review of Enzymatic Therapy Probiotic Pearls Acidophilus. The manufacturer claims this product will assist in relieving occasional cases of constipation. It is also said to alleviate bloating and gas. In the following sections we will go through the product’s pertinent information such as ingredients and our review of the product’s efficacy for you.
This product also contains inactive ingredients like vegetable oil, fish gelatin and soy lecithin. It also contains milk and fish proteins. As for the active ingredients, lactobacillus acidophilus is a natural bacteria that already exists in the human body. It is used in alternative medicines which possibly aid in preventing antibiotic caused diarrhea, lactose intolerance, indigestion and other such conditions. Although used in these treatments no research has proven it effective. Bidobacterium longum (B. Longum) is also a naturally found probiotic in the body. It has been suggested that this probiotic may aid in maintaining a normal digestive tract as well as help in preventing diarrhea caused by antibiotics and relieving symptoms of lactose intolerance. Our research into this product and its active ingredients have brought up concerns over its claims. There seems to be no evidence these ingredients are effective as constipation treatments.
It is recommended by the manufacturer for you to take one soft-gel a day and to consult a physician before use. The soft-gels are to be swallowed, not crushed or chewed.
Probiotic Pearls Acidophilus is priced at $16.50 for 30 soft gels and $39.95 for 90. It is not clear whether shipping is an additional charge.
Our research did not find any type of guarantee, however there is a return policy offered. This policy states a customer is required to contact customer service to acquire an authorization number. Returns can only be made within 60 days of the date on the invoice, and the invoice must be with the returned item. The product must be unopened to be an accepted return. It cannot be used before it is returned. This causes concern over the effectiveness of the product, and no customer reviews being available adds to this concern.
The fact that this product uses natural ingredients that occur in the body is a plus for this product. It is also good that the manufacturer is GMP certified. However, the limited return policy, lack of guarantee and no customer reviews all lead to doubts regarding whether the product works as it claims.
